I came to the United States to pursue studies in Computer Science, Mathematics, and Economics, driven by a passion for solving complex problems. Nearing graduation, I discovered the actuarial field and was drawn to its unique blend of technical rigor and real-world applications. What began as a career in technology naturally evolved into one in actuarial science, where I found opportunities to leverage everything I had learned.

My professional journey has taken me to Allianz Life and Pacific Life, where I worked extensively with annuities, life insurance, and pension products. My focus has always been on optimizing actuarial models across various software platforms and developing cutting-edge software systems —primarily in .NET and SQL Server—, including a system for tracking daily gains and losses from a hedging program and a fully automated platform for collecting assumptions, running models, and reporting the profitability of annuities.

Throughout my career, I’ve noticed a recurring theme: the frustrations of fellow modelers with outdated, inefficient, and inflexible modeling platforms. These limitations cannot be addressed with incremental improvements alone. This realization inspired the co-founding of Nice Technologies—a bold answer to the industry’s need for a new approach to actuarial modeling.

At Nice Technologies, we aim to make the work of modelers engaging and enjoyable, and to empower insurers with the speed, cost-efficiency, and flexibility they deserve from a truly best-in-class solution. By bridging the best practices of the tech world with the demands of actuarial science, we aim to redefine what’s possible in insurance modeling.

At home, I share my life with my spouse and in my free time I enjoy reading, hiking, and playing board games.
